Salary: £100–£120 per day
Contract: Full-time, long-term temporary
Start date: 1 September 2026


Salary is based on experience and qualifications. Higher rates apply to candidates with significant experience and/or qualifications.
Transparency Education is recruiting a confident and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant for a primary school in Merton. The successful candidate will work closely with teaching staff, lead planned learning and provide targeted support to individuals and groups.

Key responsibilities
• Deliver planned lessons and learning activities under the direction of a qualified teacher.
• Provide short-term class cover when required.
• Lead targeted interventions in areas such as literacy, numeracy or phonics.
• Support pupils with additional or special educational needs.
• Monitor learning and provide teachers with useful feedback on pupil progress.
• Promote positive behaviour and an inclusive classroom culture.

Requirements
• Recognised HLTA status or substantial experience working successfully at HLTA level.
• Strong primary-school classroom experience.
• Good literacy, numeracy and communication skills.
• Confidence leading groups and managing whole-class activities.
• The ability to adapt support for different learning and behavioural needs.
• A relevant Level 3 or Level 4 qualification is desirable.
