City Calling
City Calling is recruiting Hod Carriers for ongoing projects across London and the South East. Our client, an established specialist brickwork contractor, has a continuous pipeline of packages across London and the surrounding counties. We're looking for fit, hard-working Hod Carriers to keep the bricklaying gangs supplied and productive.
The role
- Loading out bricks, blocks and materials to the bricklaying gangs
- Mixing muck and keeping mortar boards supplied
- Carrying materials up scaffold and to working levels
- Setting up and clearing down work areas each day
- Keeping scaffold lifts clean, clear and free of obstructions
- Assisting with deliveries and unloading
- General labouring support to the gang
What you’ll need
Valid CSCS card Previous hod carrying or bricklaying gang experience Good level of physical fitness — this is demanding, hands-on work Head for heights and comfortable working from scaffold Full PPE Willingness to travel between sites across London and the South East Reliable, hard-working and a good team playerNice to have
Own transport — projects run across a wide patch Working at Height, Manual Handling or Abrasive Wheels tickets Experience on high-rise or large-scale residential packages Ambition to move into bricklaying — the client supports progression for the right peopleWhat we offer
