We're currently recruiting for an experienced Home Ownership Team Leader to join a leading housing organisation based in Southgate, London.

This is an excellent opportunity for a housing professional with strong leadership experience and a solid understanding of home ownership, service charges, leasehold management and customer service delivery.

About the Role

Reporting to the Home Ownership Manager, you will lead a team of Home Ownership and Service Charge Specialists, ensuring the delivery of a high-quality service to leaseholders and shared owners.

You will provide day-to-day operational leadership, oversee performance, manage complex home ownership matters and support the delivery of statutory and non-statutory processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach and develop a team of Home Ownership/Service Charge Specialists
  • Monitor performance and ensure service standards and KPIs are achieved
  • Manage escalated leasehold and home ownership enquiries
  • Support the resolution of complaints and service failures
  • Provide specialist advice on leasehold, service charge and home ownership matters
  • Interpret leases and legal documentation
  • Support preparation of documentation for First Tier Tribunal and other legal proceedings
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, policies and procedures
  • Assist with reporting, forecasting and performance management information
  • Support the Home Ownership Manager and deputise when required

Requirements

  • Previous experience within a Home Ownership, Leasehold or Service Charge environment
  • Experience managing or supervising a team
  • Strong knowledge of leasehold management and home ownership legislation
  • Working knowledge of Section 20 consultation requirements under the Landlord and Tenant Act 1985, including major works and qualifying long-term agreements
  • Experience overseeing or supporting Section 20 consultation processes
  • Experience handling complaints and complex customer issues
  • Ability to interpret leases, legal documents and statutory requirements
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong Excel and MS Office skills
  • Customer-focused with a proactive problem-solving approach
