Are you an experienced Housing professional looking for your next challenge? We are seeking a skilled Homeownership Officer to join a reputable Housing Association in Islington on a 3-month contract. This exciting opportunity offers the chance to deliver high-quality leasehold and homeowner support within a busy portfolio, making a real difference to residents and the community.
About the Role: Homeownership Officer
As a Homeownership Officer, your primary responsibility will be providing expert support to homeowners, handling various leasehold and estate management queries. You will work closely with contractors, residents, and internal teams to ensure outstanding service delivery and effective estate management.
Key Responsibilities of the Homeownership Officer:
- Managing homeowner enquiries including covenant breaches, anti-social behaviour (ASB), and leasehold questions
- Coordinating repairs and estate services through liaising with contractors and managing agents
- Processing staircasing, resales, lease extensions, and Right to Acquire applications
- Assisting with service charge calculations and statutory Section 20 consultations
- Welcoming new residents and ensuring a smooth onboarding process
- Monitoring communal areas and neighbourhood standards, ensuring health and safety compliance
- Recording all customer contact accurately on the housing management system
- Proven experience in a Homeownership, Leasehold, or Housing Officer role within the housing sector
- Strong knowledge of leasehold management and affordable housing policies
- Experience with housing management systems
- Excellent customer service skills with a proactive and solution-focused approach
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritize workloads
- Strong communication and stakeholder relationship-building skills
The Homeownership Officer contract offers a competitive pay rate of £24.00 to £26.00 per hour LTD (equivalent to £20.46 – £22.17 per hour PAYE, inclusive of holiday pay). Additional benefits include:
