Location: Rural Dorset, near the Dorset/Somerset border
Hours: Monday–Friday, 9.00am–1.00pm (20 hours per week)
Flexibility: Occasional flexibility required
Driving: Full UK driving licence and own reliable car essential

The Role

A warm, informal family is seeking an experienced, reliable and discreet Housekeeper to join their household in rural Dorset, close to the Dorset/Somerset border.

This is a varied role combining general housekeeping with occasional light childcare and family support. The family has two school-aged children who are at school during the day.

Responsibilities

• Full housekeeping, including cleaning, laundry, ironing and organisation.
• Preparing simple family meals when required.
• Occasional school pickups and light childcare.
• Supporting the children's after-school routine when needed.
• Helping to ensure the household runs smoothly and efficiently.
• Using initiative and maintaining high standards throughout the home.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years' private housekeeping experience.
• Full UK driving licence and own reliable car.
• Strong spoken English and good communication skills.
• Flexible, approachable and able to work independently.
• Excellent attention to detail and high standards.
• Discreet, trustworthy, responsible and reliable.
• Excellent written references.

Location

Ideally suited to candidates based around Gillingham, Templecombe, Tisbury or the surrounding areas, due to the rural location and working hours.

This would suit an experienced Housekeeper looking for a long-term position within a friendly, informal household. The family values reliability, discretion and care and is looking for someone who can become a trusted part of their daily routine.
