Are you passionate about preventing homelessness, reducing re offending, and helping people make lasting positive change? In order to be considered for this role you will need the relevant security clearance HMPPS Level 1 vetting clearance . This role will become permanent once the next level of clearance is obtained.
We're looking for a Housing Interventions Worker, you'll support individuals in custody to overcome housing barriers and prepare for a successful return to the community.

What you'll be doing
As a Housing Interventions Worker, you'll:
- Deliver one-to-one housing advice and tailored interventions to people in custody.
- Complete comprehensive housing assessments and develop personalised support plans.
- Help prevent homelessness by identifying suitable housing options before release.
- Build strong partnerships with local authorities, landlords, housing providers and support agencies.
- Source appropriate accommodation, including private rented housing and shared accommodation.
- Work closely with prison and probation colleagues to support positive resettlement outcomes.
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to achieving service objectives.
What we're looking for
We're looking for someone who has:
- Experience supporting people with housing, homelessness, welfare benefits or related advice services.
- Knowledge of housing legislation, welfare benefits and homelessness prevention.
- Experience working with people facing multiple and complex disadvantages, including homelessness, mental ill health, substance use or involvement with the criminal justice system.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- A positive, resilient and solution-focused approach.
- HMPPS Level 1 vetting clearance
- Ability to drive and have own vehicle
What you will get in return:
- £14.29 per hour
- 35 hour working week
- Allowance for Business Mileage
- 09:00-17:00 Monday to Friday with no weekends
