Our client is seeking a dynamic and driven Housing Parking and Garages Manager to join their Housing team on a contract basis. This role is pivotal in managing and delivering the housing department's strategy for parking on estates. It encompasses leadership, estate management, and the effective utilisation of parking and garage resources to maximise income and service efficiency.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the housing department's strategy for parking on estates, ensuring effective utilisation of parking and garage resources.
  • Promote garage use to maximise income through robust account management and arrears collection.
  • Develop, implement, and embed a continuous improvement culture relating to parking and garages.
  • Progress the garage refurbishment programme and implement new Traffic Management Orders on Housing Estates.
  • Be the main point of contact for all parking-related matters, providing expert advice and ensuring effective cross-departmental working.
  • Accountable for maintaining high standards in garage management systems, including writing and reviewing procedures.
  • Conduct regular team meetings and appraisals to ensure targets, service aims, and staff development needs are met.
  • Monitor and resolve issues related to garage rent recovery, voids management, and complex repairs.
  • Collaborate with various teams, including finance, repairs, and development, to ensure service delivery and address any operational challenges.
  • Identify and implement IT and business solutions to improve service provision and monitor performance.
  • Proactively seek revenue streams for underutilised parking and garage areas, negotiating with private companies as necessary.
  • Handle customer interactions, including investigating complaints and ensuring continuous improvement in customer satisfaction.


Job Requirements:

  • Experience in estate management, with a focus on housing and parking services.
  • Strong understanding of customer needs and the ability to define organisational business requirements.
  • Excellent written and numerical skills, with proficiency in drafting reports, presentations, and handling budgets.
  • Proficiency in housing management and rent recovery database systems, as well as Microsoft Office applications.
  • Proven track record of removing barriers and achieving customer-focused services through effective stakeholder collaboration.
  • Experience in performance management, KPI monitoring, and managing a dispersed workforce within a housing environment.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation impacting parking management within the housing sector.
  • Understanding of relevant Health and Safety legislation in staff management, parking, and building contexts.
