Are you an organised administrator with excellent customer service skills and a passion for supporting residents? We are recruiting for a Housing Registration Administrative Officer to join a busy Housing Register & Allocations Service, providing vital administrative support to ensure housing applications, enquiries, and records are processed accurately and efficiently.
This is an excellent opportunity to work within a public sector housing service, helping to deliver a high-quality service to residents and stakeholders while benefiting from flexible hybrid working arrangements.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide efficient administrative support to the Housing Register & Allocations team.
- Process housing applications, correspondence, and enquiries accurately and within required timescales.
- Maintain and update databases and electronic records, ensuring information is accurate and compliant with data protection requirements.
- Respond to telephone, email, and face-to-face enquiries from residents and partner organisations.
- Produce clear and accurate written correspondence.
- Manage and prioritise a varied workload in a fast-paced environment.
- Support service delivery by identifying opportunities for administrative and process improvements.
- Handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, housing providers, and external agencies to support residents' housing needs.
Essential Skills & Experience
We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate:
- Experience providing administrative support within a busy office or service environment.
- Experience handling customer enquiries via telephone, email, and face-to-face channels.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate records.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong customer service skills and a helpful, solution-focused approach.
- Experience working with sensitive and confidential information.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, databases, and case management systems.
- Ability to work independently whilst contributing positively to a team environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to take initiative.
- Experience prioritising workloads and meeting deadlines in a high-volume environment.
- Ability to remain professional and empathetic when supporting vulnerable residents.
Desirable Experience
- Experience within housing, local government, or the wider public sector.
- Knowledge of Housing Register and Allocations services.
- Understanding of social housing, homelessness, or housing-related services.
- Experience using housing management, CRM, or case management systems.
- Business Administration or housing-related qualifications.
