HR Advisor (12-Month Fixed Term Contract)

This is a 12-month fixed-term contract based at one of the organisation's largest and most dynamic UK manufacturing sites.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the HR Director and working as part of a close-knit HR team, you'll provide proactive HR support across the full employee lifecycle. This is a varied role combining employee relations, recruitment, HR operations and people projects, while playing a key role in supporting managers and helping to drive a positive, high-performing culture.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality employee relations advice and coaching to managers, ensuring employment risks are effectively managed.
- Support formal investigations, disciplinary, grievance, absence management and performance processes.
- Interpret and advise on HR policies, procedures and employment legislation.
- Work closely with Occupational Health and other stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes.
- Support recruitment, selection and workforce planning activities.
- Maintain accurate HR records, reporting and monthly HR KPI data.
- Work alongside Payroll to ensure timely and accurate processing of employee information.
- Support organisational change projects, including TUPE and business transformation initiatives.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of HR policies, processes and service delivery.
- Support employee engagement, wellbeing, inclusion and internal communication initiatives.
- Manage the HR inbox, providing responsive advice and administrative support to managers and employees.
Person Specification
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
- Previous experience working as an HR Advisor within a fast-paced environment.
- CIPD Level 5 qualification (or be working towards it).
- Strong employee relations experience, with the confidence to advise and coach managers across a broad range of HR matters.
- Up-to-date knowledge of UK employment legislation and HR best practice.
- Experience interpreting HR policies and procedures to provide pragmatic, commercially focused solutions.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence and build credibility at all levels.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage a varied workload and prioritise effectively.
- Good analytical skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HR systems.
- A proactive, collaborative approach with a passion for delivering an excellent HR service.
The following would be advantageous:
- Experience of working within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Experience of working in a unionised environment and supporting managers on employee relations matters involving recognised trade unions.
- Experience supporting organisational change initiatives, including TUPE or business transformation projects.
