Hales Group are delighted to be recruiting for an experienced HR Advisor on behalf of a well-established and successful manufacturing business based in Suffolk. This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy, people-focused organisation where you will play a key role in supporting managers and employees across a broad range of HR activities.
About the Role
Working closely with the HR Manager, you will provide a professional and proactive HR advisory service across the business. This is a varied generalist HR position involving employee relations, recruitment, onboarding, HR administration and reporting, whilst ensuring compliance with employment legislation and company procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide first-line HR advice and support to managers and employees.
- Manage a range of employee relations matters including absence management, disciplinaries, grievances, performance management and flexible working requests.
- Support managers with occupational health referrals and return-to-work processes.
- Prepare employment contracts and HR documentation.
- Arrange and attend formal and informal meetings, taking notes and providing guidance where required.
- Lead recruitment activities, including offer management and contract preparation.
- Coordinate onboarding and induction processes for new starters.
- Maintain accurate employee records and HR databases in line with GDPR requirements.
- Produce and analyse HR reports, identifying trends and recommending improvements.
- Support HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Manage a variety of HR administrative duties across the employee lifecycle.
What We're Looking For
- CIPD Level 5 qualified or working towards qualification.
- Previous experience in a HR Advisor or similar generalist HR role.
- Strong understanding of UK employment legislation and HR best practice.
- Experience managing a variety of employee relations cases.
- Confident building relationships with managers and stakeholders at all levels.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and HR systems.
- Able to manage confidential information professionally and discreetly.
- A proactive and solutions-focused approach with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
