CMA HR Division is partnering with a well-established public sector organisation in Southampton to recruit an experienced HR Manager on a 6-month fixed-term contract basis.

Reporting into senior leadership, the HR Manager will lead a professional HR team whilst supporting key people initiatives during an important period of organisational development.

This role would suit an experienced HR professional who enjoys operating both strategically and operationally, partnering with stakeholders across the business to deliver high-quality people solutions and drive continuous improvement.

What will the HR Manager role involve?

  • Leading, motivating and developing a team of HR professionals to deliver an effective and customer-focused HR service
  • Acting as a trusted advisor to senior leaders on employee relations, organisational change, workforce planning and employment legislation
  • Providing expert guidance on complex casework, performance management, employee wellbeing and industrial relations matters
  • Supporting the delivery of people-focused projects and initiatives aligned to organisational objectives
  • Using HR metrics and workforce data to provide insight, identify trends and support informed decision-making
  • Promoting a positive and inclusive culture whilst championing employee engagement and best practice across the organisation
  • Building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support the organisation's ongoing success

Suitable Candidate for the HR Manager vacancy:

  • Proven experience operating in a senior HR leadership or HR Manager position
  • Strong generalist HR expertise, including employee relations, organisational change and people development
  • Demonstrable experience leading and developing HR teams within a complex environment
  • Ability to build credibility and influence stakeholders at all levels
  • Up-to-date knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice
  • CIPD qualification or equivalent experience would be advantageous
