Summary: Our client is seeking an experienced HR Manager to join their People team in Reading. This pivotal role requires a generalist HR professional who can provide day-to-day HR services and support throughout the employee lifecycle. Key Responsibilities: HR Generalist Support & Advisory You will deliver first-line HR guidance across various people matters, enabling managers to handle situations confidently. Success will be measured by the confidence reported by managers and the timely resolution of HR queries.

  • Employee Relations & Case Management: Manage a range of employee relations cases, ensuring they are documented fairly and legally. You will be responsible for resolving cases within agreed timelines and reducing long-term absence.
  • Onboarding & Talent Acquisition: Support Collaborate with hiring managers to facilitate recruitment and deliver a high-quality onboarding experience for new starters. Your effectiveness will be reflected in positive feedback from new employees.
  • HR Data, Reporting & Systems: Maintain accurate employee records within the HRIS and produce regular reports to support data-driven decision-making. Ensuring GDPR compliance and data integrity is essential.
  • Policy, Wellbeing & Employee Engagement: Support the maintenance and communication of HR policies and initiatives that reflect the organisation's values. You will help ensure policies are clear and accessible while driving engagement and wellbeing programmes.

Skills & Qualifications: To excel in this role, you should possess:

  • A minimum of 5 years' HR generalist experience with CIPD Level 5 or above.
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment law and experience managing employee relations cases.
  • Proficiency in HRIS and data management, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to handle sensitive conversations empathetically.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a varied workload independently.
