HR Officer in Banbury, Oxfordshire

We're looking for an experienced HR Officer to join a busy and people-focused team in Banbury on a full time, permanent basis, office based - full-time hours are 40 per week, but our client will consider 35 hours. This is a hands-on HR role where you'll be a key point of contact for managers and employees, providing practical advice and support across the full employee lifecycle.

As HR Officer, you will be responsible for:

• Providing first-line HR advice and guidance to managers and employees
• Supporting employee relations matters including absence, performance, disciplinary and grievance processes
• Coordinating recruitment, offers, pre-employment checks and onboarding
• Supporting managers with investigations, meetings and HR documentation
• Managing absence, wellbeing and Occupational Health processes
• Maintaining accurate HR records and producing HR reports and management information
• Supporting employee engagement, communications and recognition initiatives
• Assisting with HR projects, policy updates and continuous improvement
• Ensuring HR processes are consistent, compliant and aligned with UK employment legislation

We're looking for someone who is practical, approachable and confident in their HR knowledge. You'll need to be comfortable working closely with managers, handling sensitive situations professionally and balancing a busy workload.

Ideally, you'll have:

• Previous experience in an HR Officer or HR Advisor position
• Good knowledge of UK employment law and HR processes
• Experience supporting employee relations cases
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Excellent organisation and attention to detail
• The ability to work calmly and effectively in a fast-paced environment
• CIPD Level 5 (or equivalent experience)

Experience within a manufacturing, logistics, FMCG or similarly operational environment would be beneficial, as would experience with HR systems and time & attendance platforms.
