JRS Associates are currently recruiting for an experienced HR & Payroll Administrator to join an established manufacturing business.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous payroll and/or HR administration experience who is confident handling payroll data, employee records and general HR documentation within a busy working environment.

The position is primarily focused on payroll processing and HR administration, supporting the HR Manager and ensuring employee information is processed accurately, confidentially and within required deadlines.

The Successful HR & Payroll Administrator – Package:

  • £28,500 – £30,000 per annum

The Successful HR & Payroll Administrator – Role:

  • Process monthly payroll information including new starters, leavers, pay changes, overtime, absence and expenses
  • Liaise with the external payroll bureau and resolve payroll data queries
  • Support statutory payroll administration including SSP, SMP, SPP and SAP
  • Assist with P45 and P60 processing
  • Administer pension auto-enrolment, including opt-ins, opt-outs and contribution uploads
  • Maintain accurate employee records, personnel files and HR systems
  • Complete new starter and leaver administration
  • Carry out right-to-work checks and reference administration
  • Prepare contracts and standard employment documentation using approved templates
  • Maintain absence, holiday, training and certification records
  • Produce routine HR and payroll reports
  • Ensure employee information is stored accurately and confidentially in line with GDPR requirements

The Successful HR & Payroll Administrator – Requirements:

  • Previous experience within a payroll and/or HR administration role
  • Good understanding of the payroll processing cycle
  • Knowledge of SSP, SMP, SPP, SAP, P45s and P60s
  • Confident using Excel and HR/payroll systems
  • Experience using systems such as Sage, iTrent, BrightHR or similar would be advantageous
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good organisational and administrative skills
  • Comfortable handling confidential employee information
  • GCSE Maths and English at Grade C/4 or above, or equivalent

Experience administering pension auto-enrolment would be advantageous, while a CIPP qualification, CIPD Level 3 or progress towards either qualification would also be beneficial.

Previous experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment would be desirable but is not essential.
