CNC Miller Programmer / Setter / Operator

Portsmouth Area Dayshift £19.50 - £20.50 per hour Permanent Position

Actio Recruitment are delighted to be assisting a well-established engineering company in the Portsmouth area in their search for an experienced CNC Miller Programmer, Setter and Operator.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy manufacturer producing high-quality precision components for a range of industries.

The Role

Working on a permanent dayshift (40 hrs p/w), you will be responsible for programming, setting and operating CNC milling machines with Hurco controls, ensuring quality standards and production targets are consistently achieved.

Duties will include:

• Programming CNC milling machines using Hurco controls
• Setting and operating CNC machining centres
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
• Producing precision components to tight tolerances
• Conducting in-process inspection using standard measuring equipment
• Making tooling and offset adjustments as required
• Maintaining high standards of quality, safety and housekeeping

Candidate Requirements

• Proven experience as a CNC Miller Programmer, Setter and Operator
• Strong knowledge of Hurco controls preferable but open to programmers with experience of other controls as training will be provided
• Ability to program at the machine from engineering drawings
• Experience machining a variety of materials
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
• Good understanding of quality inspection procedures and measuring equipment
