Import/Export Sales Executive

Our client is a growing logistics business looking to recruit an Inside Sales Executive to join their team.

This is a great opportunity for someone with a couple of years’ experience within the shipping, freight forwarding or logistics industry who is looking to take the next step in their career.

The ideal candidate will already have a good understanding of the industry and be comfortable dealing with customers, suppliers and overseas agents. You will be commercially minded, organised and confident managing sales opportunities within a busy environment.

The Role

As an Inside Sales Executive, your responsibilities will include:

• Developing and maintaining strong relationships with existing and prospective customers
• Preparing and sending quotations
• Following up quotations and sales opportunities
• Identifying new business opportunities within the logistics and shipping sector
• Liaising with customers, suppliers and overseas agents
• Managing customer enquiries and providing accurate information
• Using internal operating and quotation systems
• Supporting the wider sales team with day-to-day activities
• Maintaining accurate customer and sales records
• Building on your existing knowledge of the shipping and logistics industry

About You

We're looking for someone who:

• Has 2+ years’ experience within the shipping, freight forwarding or logistics industry
• Has a good understanding of the logistics/shipping process
• Has previous experience working with quotations and sales opportunities
• Is confident communicating with customers, suppliers and overseas agents
• Has strong written and verbal communication skills
• Has a professional and confident telephone manner
• Is comfortable using Microsoft Outlook and Excel
• Is organised, proactive and able to manage multiple tasks
• Has good attention to detail
• Is commercially aware and confident following up opportunities
• Is looking to build a long-term career within the logistics industry

Please note this is a full-time, office-based position. Part-time, hybrid and remote working options are not available.

Location: West Thurrock
Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:30 – 17:30 (40 hours per week)
