- An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and driven Income and Productivity Programme Lead to join a large and forward-thinking NHS organisation.
- This is a high-impact role, responsible for leading a complex portfolio of work focused on improving income capture, productivity, and financial performance across the organisation. You will play a central role in delivering efficiency programmes, supporting operational teams, and ensuring that income opportunities are maximised in line with national guidance and local priorities.
- Working at a senior level, you will collaborate with clinical, operational, and finance colleagues to drive sustainable improvements and support the delivery of high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and delivery of the organisation’s income and productivity improvement programme
- Identify and implement opportunities to optimise income recovery and coding accuracy
- Drive improvements in productivity, efficiency, and service utilisation across clinical areas
- Provide expert advice on national tariff, payment mechanisms, and financial flows
- Work collaboratively with operational and clinical teams to support service redesign and transformation
- Develop robust performance monitoring, reporting, and assurance frameworks
- Support financial planning processes, including Cost Improvement Programmes (CIPs) and efficiency targets
- Engage effectively with system partners within the Integrated Care System (ICS) where required
- Lead and influence change across multidisciplinary teams
About You
We are seeking a highly motivated individual with:
- Significant experience in NHS finance, income management, productivity, or operational improvement roles
- Strong understanding of NHS payment systems, tariff structures, and income flows
- Proven track record of delivering large-scale improvement programmes and financial efficiencies
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data
- Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, including working with clinical leaders
- Ability to lead change and deliver results in a complex and fast-paced environment
- Educated to degree level or equivalent experience (professional finance or management qualification desirable)
