Independent Domestic Violence Advocate (IDVA) - Female Only
Location: Coventry
Salary: £28,276 - £29,776 DOE
Hours: Full-time (37.5 hours, Mon-Fri + rota)
About the Role
We are recruiting an IDVA to support individuals experiencing domestic abuse, honour-based abuse, and related risks. You'll manage a caseload, carry out risk assessments, create safety plans, and provide advocacy through multi-agency working (including MARAC).
Key Duties
- Manage high/medium risk cases (80-100 annually)
- Conduct risk assessments and safety planning
- Provide crisis support and ongoing advocacy
- Work with police, housing, and support services
- Attend MARAC and multi-agency meetings
- Maintain accurate case records
Requirements
- Experience supporting domestic abuse survivors or vulnerable groups
- Strong safeguarding knowledge
- Experience in risk assessment and case management
- Excellent communication and organisation skills
- Fluent in English and at least one BAME/community language
Desirable: IDVA qualification, MARAC experience
Additional Info
- Strong understanding of BAME/migrant community barriers is essential
- Driving licence desirable
- Enhanced DBS required
