Electrician (Industrial/MEICA)

£40,000 - £45,000 Basic + Overtime + Staying Away Allowance + Excellent Benefits (van/ fuel card/ clothign, PPE provided)

MEICA Link is recruiting on behalf of our customer for an experienced Industrial Electrician to join a well-established engineering business delivering critical infrastructure projects across Scotland.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified electrician looking to work on challenging and varied MEICA projects within the water and heavy industrial sectors, with genuine opportunities for long-term career development.

The Role

Working across sites throughout Scotland, predominantly within the Central Belt, you'll be responsible for the installation, testing, commissioning and fault-finding of electrical systems on infrastructure projects.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Installation of cable containment systems to industry standards

  • Glanding and termination of cables in accordance with BS7671

  • Installation of electrical equipment and associated systems

  • Reading and interpreting electrical schematics and installation drawings

  • Electrical testing, continuity checks and commissioning activities

  • Fault finding and rectification of electrical issues

  • Supporting project delivery teams to ensure safe and efficient completion of works

What We're Looking For

  • Fully qualified Electrician with a recognised apprenticeship (City & Guilds or equivalent)

  • 18th Edition qualified

  • Current ECS Card and valid Health & Safety Assessment

  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics

  • Experience working on industrial electrical installations

  • Knowledge of LV assemblies, control panels and MCCs would be advantageous

  • Water industry or heavy industrial experience is desirable but not essential

  • Full UK driving licence

Travel & Working Away

This role covers projects across Scotland, primarily within the Central Belt.

Candidates should be prepared to work away from home approximately one week in every five, with all staying away allowances paid in addition to salary and overtime opportunities available.
