Temporary Industrial Placement - Design Engineer.

We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Temporary Industrial Placement - Design Engineer to join our innovative team in Hinckley. This is a unique opportunity for an engineering student to develop and test a broad range of skills in a thriving environment. As a Design Engineer Student Placement, you will immerse yourself in essential engineering processes

Please note: This position is for Undergraduates looking for a Placement Year within their course for the academic year 2027/28 only.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and test a broad range of skills, including 3D CAD design, technical drawing creation, and potentially development testing and computer simulation activities such as FEA.
  • You will work closely with external suppliers and internal departments, including Purchasing, Quality, Assembly, and Manufacturing, developing key industry communication and collaboration skills.

Skill and qualifications:

  • Studying for an IMechE-accredited engineering degree that meets the academic requirements for Chartered Engineer (CEng) status.
  • Able to work on-site in Hinckley 5 days per week.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office packages.
  • Self-motivated, resilient, and adaptable, with the ability to follow instructions, work under pressure, and communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing.
