£23.90 - £30.25 Per Hour PAYE

Full Time - Monday to Friday (Hybrid working 2/3 days a week in the office)

About the Role

Reporting to the Assistant Director, Contract Performance and Compliance, you will provide leadership across all aspects of Information Governance, ensuring the organisation continues to meet its statutory, contractual and regulatory obligations while supporting the ambitions of the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR).

This is an exciting opportunity for a governance professional who enjoys combining strategic thinking with operational delivery. You will lead key governance initiatives, develop policy and compliance frameworks, manage a specialist team, and act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders across the organisation.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Lead Information Governance programmes and workstreams across NETSCC and NIHR coordinating centre activities.
  • Develop and implement Information Governance strategies that respond to evolving organisational needs.
  • Oversee the development, review and implementation of policies, procedures and governance frameworks.
  • Provide specialist advice on complex governance, compliance and data-related matters.
  • Analyse governance activity, identify trends and present findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Lead and develop a team of Information Governance and Compliance Officers, a Records Management Officer and administrative support colleagues.
  • Build strong relationships with colleagues across the organisation, NIHR and Department of Health and Social Care.
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement, quality assurance and compliance excellence.

About You

Essential

  • Professional qualification or postgraduate-level expertise in Information Governance, Data Protection or a related discipline.
  • Significant experience delivering outcomes within an Information Governance environment.
  • Proven people management and project management experience.
  • Strong understanding of governance, compliance and information management best practice.
  • Experience producing and interpreting management information and performance data.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills.
  • Ability to analyse complex issues, identify solutions and deliver organisational change.

Desirable

  • Membership of a relevant professional body.
  • PRINCE2 or equivalent project management qualification.
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Data Protection and Information Governance.
  • Experience within higher education, research, healthcare or public sector environments.
