Location: Ash Vale
Salary: £36,000 - £39,000 per annum
Hours: 39 hours per week (Early finish Friday at 1:15pm)
Syntech Recruitment are partnering with a specialist manufacturing business in Ash Vale to recruit a hands-on Inspection Quality Engineer to join their quality team.
The role offers a stable, structured position within a quality-driven environment, focusing on precision inspection and document control. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the company’s Quality Management System, ensuring all manufactured and assembled components meet strict engineering standards.
Inspection Quality Engineer Responsibilities

Perform First Article Inspection (FAI) and in-process inspection of manufactured parts and assemblies.

Work strictly in line with the company’s Quality Management System (QMS) to maintain high-quality standards.

Read and accurately interpret complex engineering drawings to verify component compliance.

Utilize a variety of traditional inspection equipment and tools to verify dimensional accuracy.

Manage document control efficiently, completing certificates and detailed inspection reports.

Collaborate closely with machining and assembly teams to identify, report, and resolve quality issues.

Maintain accurate quality records and support continuous improvement initiatives across the shop floor.

Communicate effectively across departments to ensure a cohesive, team-focused approach to quality.
Inspection Quality Engineer Requirements

Strong hands-on inspection background within a manufacturing or engineering environment.

Proven experience in a dedicated Quality or Inspection role.

Expertise in reading and interpreting complex engineering drawings and blueprints.

Solid understanding of standard inspection equipment, quality systems, and general manufacturing processes.

Familiarity with first article inspection (FAI) and in-process inspection procedures.

Strong computer literacy with experience handling document control and inspection reports.

Exceptional attention to detail and a quality-focused mindset.

Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented approach.
Desirable Skills

Previous hands-on background in precision machining or mechanical assembly.

Familiarity with formalized calibration procedures (external training like Calibration Courses can be provided).

Experience working within ISO 9001 or equivalent Quality Management Systems.
