Instrument Technician - Glasgow - Competitive Salary
Our client is seeking an experienced Instrument & Process Control Technician to join their engineering team on a permanent basis. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a highly automated continuous manufacturing environment, supporting the maintenance, optimisation and improvement of instrumentation and process control systems.
Are you who we're looking for?
- HND (minimum) or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, Process Control or a related discipline
- Previous experience within a continuous manufacturing or process industry environment
- Strong knowledge of instrumentation, process control systems and industrial automation
- Experience working with PLCs, DCS and SCADA systems
- Experience supporting process control projects and control system improvements
- Good understanding of industrial health & safety regulations
- Excellent fault-finding, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary engineering team
- Flexibility to work shifts where required
What does the day-to-day look like?
- Carrying out planned maintenance, inspections and calibration of instrumentation and control equipment
- Diagnosing and repairing faults across process control systems and instrumentation
- Maintaining accurate maintenance records and equipment documentation
- Supporting preventative maintenance programmes to maximise plant reliability
- Working alongside engineering teams to deliver control system upgrades and continuous improvement projects
- Ensuring all work is completed in line with health, safety and environmental standards
- Contributing to the ongoing optimisation of manufacturing processes and plant performance
