About Us
Our clients are a leading, independent commercial insurance brokerage known for putting their clients first. Unlike the high-volume, transactional corporate environments, they focus on building deep, long-term relationships with local and national businesses. Due to their exciting continued growth, they are looking for an experienced Commercial Insurance Account Handler to join their supportive, dynamic team.
The Role: What You'll Do
As a Commercial Insurance Account Handler, you will be the day-to-day champion for your own portfolio of commercial clients. Your focus will be on delivering expert advice, ensuring first-class customer service, and managing policy lifecycles from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities:
• Account Management: Manage and nurture an existing portfolio of mid-market commercial clients across various sectors (Property, Liability, Fleet, and PI).
• Renewals & Mid-Term Adjustments (MTAs): Prepare renewal presentations, negotiate competitive terms with leading insurers, and handle policy adjustments efficiently.
• New Business Support: Collaborate with Account Executives to prepare quotes, present risks to insurers, and onboard new clients successfully.
• Client Advocacy: Act as the first point of contact for day-to-day inquiries, offering clear technical advice in plain English.
• Compliance: Maintain precise records on our client management system in line with FCA (Financial Conduct Authority) guidelines.
What We Are Looking For
We want someone who is technically competent but, above all, brilliant with people.
• Experience: Minimum of 4 – 5 years of commercial insurance broking or handling experience (essential).
• Technical Knowledge: A solid grasp of general commercial lines (commercial property, public/employers liability, and commercial motor).
• Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to negotiate effectively with underwriters.
• Drive: Someone looking to develop their career. Progress toward CII qualifications (Cert CII / Dip CII) is highly advantageous (we will fully fund this if you want to complete it!).
• Tech Savvy: Strong IT skills, including MS Office and experience with insurance software systems (e.g., Acturis, Open GI, SSP).
What’s in it for You?
We believe in rewarding our people properly. Here is what we offer:
• Competitive Salary: Regular salary reviews to match your growing expertise.
• Professional Growth: Fully funded CII study support (exams, textbooks, and paid study leave).
• Great Culture: A friendly, zero-politics office with regular social events and team-building days.
