Interim Building Control Manager Role

West Midlands | 12-Month Rolling Contract | £550–£700 per day

Are you an experienced Building Control leader looking for your next interim assignment?

We're working exclusively with a well-regarded Local Authority in the West Midlands seeking an Interim Building Control Manager to lead their Building Control service on an initial 12-month rolling contract.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional who can provide operational leadership, mentor a talented team, and ensure the delivery of a high-quality, compliant Building Control service.

The Role

  • Lead and manage a team of 3 Registered Building Inspectors (RBIs)

  • Provide operational oversight across the Building Control function

  • Support performance, quality assurance and service delivery

  • Ensure compliance with current Building Safety Regulator requirements and relevant legislation

  • Act as the technical lead, providing guidance on complex Building Control matters

  • Build positive relationships with internal stakeholders, developers and external partners

About You

  • Registered with the Building Safety Regulator (BSR) at minimum Class 2D

  • Previous experience managing or leading a Building Control team within a Local Authority or RBCA

  • Strong technical Building Control knowledge and leadership skills

  • Able to hit the ground running within a busy Local Authority environment

  • Hybrid working – 2 to 3 days per week on site in the West Midlands, with the remainder worked remotely
