Interim Estates Surveyor

We are seeking an experienced Estates Surveyor to support the management of a diverse industrial property portfolio. The successful candidate will have a strong background in landlord and tenant matters, lease management, and general estate management within either the public or private sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of predominantly industrial and commercial properties.
• Lead on landlord and tenant matters, including lease renewals, rent reviews, lease re-gears, assignments, licences to alter, and licences to assign.
• Negotiate and complete new leases in line with organisational objectives.
• Provide professional estates management advice to internal stakeholders.
• Manage lease events and ensure compliance with statutory and contractual obligations.
• Instruct and manage external agents, solicitors, and valuers where required.
• Support the delivery of income generation and asset management initiatives.
• Maintain accurate property records and contribute to asset management systems.
• Prepare reports and recommendations for senior management where necessary.

Essential Requirements

• MRICS qualified (preferred) or demonstrable equivalent experience.
• Strong estates management experience with a focus on landlord and tenant matters.
• Proven experience negotiating new leases and managing industrial or commercial property portfolios.
• Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• Knowledge of relevant property legislation and best practice.
• Experience working within a local authority or public sector environment is desirable.
• Ability to manage a varied workload and work independently.
