Your New Role
Reporting into the Finance Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the integrity of the balance sheet, maintaining strong financial controls, and supporting the month end reporting process. You will be responsible for delivering accurate financial reporting, managing key reconciliations, and partnering with stakeholders across the business to resolve accounting and process-related issues.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the monthly close process, ensuring all reporting deadlines are met accurately and efficiently.
- Managing and reviewing key balance sheet reconciliations, including ageing analysis and provisions.
- Investigating and resolving historical reconciliation discrepancies.
- Developing a strong understanding of key accounting balances and their commercial drivers.
- Supporting process improvement initiatives and enhancing financial controls.
- Assisting with projects, system improvements, and change programmes.
- Collaborating with finance and operational teams to improve data quality and reporting accuracy.
- Ensuring compliance with internal policies, controls, and regulatory requirements.
What You'll Need to Succeed
To be successful in this role, you will be a qualified accountant or a finalist working towards a recognised qualification such as ACA, ACCA, or CIMA. You will possess strong technical accounting skills combined with a proactive and analytical approach.You will also have:
- Previous experience within a financial accounting or control environment.
- Strong Excel skills and the ability to analyse and interpret financial data.
- Experience managing reconciliations and maintaining financial controls.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships across the business.
- Experience reviewing and improving financial processes.
- Exposure to systems, interfaces, or finance transformation initiatives would be advantageous.
- Experience within a large complex organisation and Oracle systems would be beneficial but is not essential.
