A large and respected organisation is seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to join its Finance team on an interim basis. Operating within a complex and fast-paced environment, the organisation is currently delivering a significant systems implementation project and requires additional support to ensure key financial accounting activities continue to be delivered effectively.
This role offers a hybrid working arrangement with a collaborative team environment and the opportunity to contribute to high-profile financial projects and statutory processes.
Your New Role
As Interim Financial Accountant, you will support the Financial Accounts function across a range of business-as-usual and project-related activities. Working closely with senior finance colleagues, you will play a key role in maintaining financial compliance and supporting external reporting requirements.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Supporting external audit activities and managing audit requests.
- Reviewing and assisting with the implementation of accounting policies.
- Providing expertise in lease accounting and revenue recognition.
- Assisting with statutory and financial reporting requirements.
- Supporting the finance team during a period of increased workload.
- Managing financial administration activities with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Working proactively to identify and resolve accounting issues as they arise.

What You Need to SucceedTo be successful in this role, you will:
- Be a fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Have strong financial accounting experience within a complex organisation.
- Possess a sound understanding of lease accounting and revenue recognition principles (FRS 102).
- Have experience supporting external audits and responding to auditor queries.
- Be able to work independently and manage competing priorities effectively.
- Demonstrate a proactive, hands-on approach with the ability to adapt quickly to new environments.
- Have excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Be highly organised with strong attention to detail.
