Interim Maintenance Manager in Wakefield, West Yorkshire

Questech Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced Interim Maintenance Manager to join a well-established manufacturing business based in Wakefield on an initial 3-month contract.

Location: Wakefield, West Yorkshire
Rate: £300–£450 per day
Hours: Monday to Friday – Days
Contract Length: 3 Months

The Role:

• Overseeing the day-to-day maintenance and engineering operations across site.

• Managing and supporting a team of maintenance engineers.

• Ensuring planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules are completed effectively.

• Managing reactive maintenance and minimising production downtime.

• Identifying areas for continuous improvement and improving site reliability.

• Working closely with production and senior management teams.

• Ensuring all engineering activities comply with health and safety regulations.

• Supporting contractors and overseeing maintenance-related projects.

The Person:

• Previous experience as a Maintenance Manager, Engineering Manager or Interim Engineering Manager.

• Strong background within a manufacturing or FMCG environment.

• Proven experience managing engineering teams.

• Good understanding of both electrical and mechanical maintenance.

• Experience with PPM systems, continuous improvement and maintenance planning.

• Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.

• Available for an initial 3-month contract.
