Contract: 6-12 months
Day Rate: £250 - £300 per day DOE
Working Pattern: Hybrid

Hamilton Woods Associates are currently supporting a leading manufacturing business in Leicester with the appointment of an Interim Management Accountant.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Management Accountant to join an established finance function and take ownership of key month-end, management accounting and manufacturing finance activities from day one.



The Role

Reporting into the Finance Manager, you will play a hands-on role across month-end, management reporting and financial analysis, working closely with operational teams to provide accurate and meaningful financial information.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing monthly management accounts and supporting month-end close.
  • Producing and analysing P&L and balance sheet reporting.
  • Completing balance sheet reconciliations and investigating variances.
  • Analysing manufacturing costs, stock and production variances.
  • Monitoring key financial and operational KPIs.
  • Supporting budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Providing detailed variance analysis and financial commentary.
  • Supporting accurate stock reporting and valuation.
  • Preparing journals, accruals and prepayments.
  • Working closely with operational and non-finance stakeholders.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve financial controls and processes.
  • Providing ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting to support decision-making.


About You

We are looking for a hands-on Management Accountant who can quickly integrate into a manufacturing environment and make an immediate impact.

You will ideally have:

  • Proven Management Accounting experience within manufacturing.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing finance, including stock, costs, variances and production KPIs.
  • Previous experience using Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) or a similar ERP system.
  • Strong month-end and management accounts experience.
  • Excellent Excel and analytical skills.
  • Strong reconciliation and variance analysis experience.
  • The ability to work independently and hit the ground running in an interim environment.
  • Excellent communication skills with the confidence to work with finance and operational stakeholders.
