About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced and proactive Internal Recruiter to join a growing manufacturing business.

This is a hands-on recruitment role where you’ll take ownership of the recruitment process from initial vacancy briefing through to successful placement. A key part of the role will be managing the regular recruitment of machinists and other skilled engineering personnel, building a strong pipeline of candidates so that we can respond quickly to our ongoing workforce requirements.

You’ll work closely with hiring managers and operational teams to understand their requirements, attract the right people and ensure candidates have a positive experience throughout the process.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Manage end-to-end recruitment across our engineering and manufacturing teams.

• Regularly recruit machinists, setters, operators and other skilled engineering roles.

• Build and maintain an active pipeline of suitable engineering candidates.

• Develop effective sourcing strategies using job boards, LinkedIn, social media, networking and direct approaches.

• Write engaging job adverts that attract the right calibre of candidates.

• Screen and interview candidates, assessing both technical experience and cultural fit.

• Coordinate interviews and manage the candidate journey through to offer and onboarding.

• Work closely with hiring managers to understand current and future recruitment requirements.

• Develop relationships with candidates, creating talent pools for future vacancies.

• Monitor recruitment activity, including time-to-hire, candidate sources and vacancy progress.

• Identify opportunities to improve our recruitment processes and employer brand.

• Work with external recruitment agencies where appropriate, while reducing our reliance on agency recruitment through effective direct sourcing.

About You

We’re looking for someone who is confident, organised and genuinely enjoys recruitment.

Ideally, you’ll have experience recruiting within engineering, manufacturing, precision engineering or another technical environment, with a good understanding of the challenges involved in recruiting skilled machinists.

You’ll be comfortable picking up the phone, speaking to candidates and hiring managers, and proactively searching for people rather than simply waiting for applications to come in.

You'll bring:

• Previous internal or agency recruitment experience.

• Experience recruiting technical, engineering or manufacturing roles.

• A proven ability to source candidates proactively.

• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

• Strong organisation and attention to detail.

• The confidence to work independently and manage multiple vacancies.

• A practical, results-focused approach to recruitment.

• The ability to understand technical job requirements and translate them into compelling adverts.

• A genuine interest in building long-term talent pipelines rather than filling vacancies on a purely reactive basis.
