About the Role
We are looking for a caring, reliable and compassionate Intimate Care Teaching Assistant (TA) to join our supportive team.
The successful candidate will provide high-quality support to pupils who require assistance with their personal and intimate care needs, while promoting their dignity, independence, wellbeing and inclusion at all times.
This is a rewarding role for someone who is patient, respectful and committed to making a positive difference to the lives of children and young people.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide sensitive and respectful intimate/personal care to pupils in line with individual care plans and school policies.
- Support pupils with toileting, changing, hygiene and other personal care needs.
- Assist pupils with mobility and transfers where required, following appropriate manual handling procedures.
- Promote pupils' independence and encourage them to participate in their own care wherever possible.
- Support pupils within the classroom and wider school environment as required.
- Maintain a high standard of safeguarding, confidentiality, dignity and professional conduct.
- Work closely with teachers, support staff, families and relevant professionals to meet individual pupil needs.
- Follow all health, safety, safeguarding and personal care procedures.
Essential Requirements
- A current Manual Handling Certificate is essential.
- Previous experience working with children or young people, particularly within an educational, care or SEND setting, is desirable.
- A caring, patient and empathetic approach.
- The ability to maintain professional boundaries and respect confidentiality.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
- The ability to follow individual care plans and instructions carefully.
