About the Role
An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Maintenance Joiner to join a busy Building Services team based at a Hospital. This role is ideal for a skilled tradesperson who takes pride in delivering high-quality maintenance and repair work across a large healthcare environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out a wide range of internal and external joinery maintenance tasks, as well as supporting small works projects to a consistently high standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret and work from drawings, specifications, and work instructions with minimal supervision.
- Set out and complete new joinery work using appropriate tools, materials, and techniques.
- Machine timber and manufacture bespoke joinery items as required.
- Carry out repairs to ironmongery, glazing, blinds, door furniture, and associated fixtures.
- Undertake key cutting duties.
- Construct and install metal framing systems.
- Work safely at height using scaffolding and appropriate access equipment.
- Complete small works projects independently and to agreed deadlines.
- Participate in an on-call rota to provide emergency maintenance support when required.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with health and safety regulations and industry best practices.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A recognised apprenticeship in Carpentry/Joinery.
- City & Guilds Craft Certificate or NVQ Level 3 in Carpentry/Joinery (or equivalent).
- Proven experience working as a maintenance or construction joiner.
- A good understanding of current Health & Safety legislation.
- Knowledge of COSHH regulations (desirable).
- A valid Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) or equivalent construction skills card.
- A full UK driving licence.
- The ability to work independently while maintaining high standards of workmanship and customer service.
