Hours: 37.5 hours per week

About the Role

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Maintenance Joiner to join a busy Building Services team based at a Hospital. This role is ideal for a skilled tradesperson who takes pride in delivering high-quality maintenance and repair work across a large healthcare environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out a wide range of internal and external joinery maintenance tasks, as well as supporting small works projects to a consistently high standard.

Key Responsibilities

  • Interpret and work from drawings, specifications, and work instructions with minimal supervision.
  • Set out and complete new joinery work using appropriate tools, materials, and techniques.
  • Machine timber and manufacture bespoke joinery items as required.
  • Carry out repairs to ironmongery, glazing, blinds, door furniture, and associated fixtures.
  • Undertake key cutting duties.
  • Construct and install metal framing systems.
  • Work safely at height using scaffolding and appropriate access equipment.
  • Complete small works projects independently and to agreed deadlines.
  • Participate in an on-call rota to provide emergency maintenance support when required.
  • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with health and safety regulations and industry best practices.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A recognised apprenticeship in Carpentry/Joinery.
  • City & Guilds Craft Certificate or NVQ Level 3 in Carpentry/Joinery (or equivalent).
  • Proven experience working as a maintenance or construction joiner.
  • A good understanding of current Health & Safety legislation.
  • Knowledge of COSHH regulations (desirable).
  • A valid Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) or equivalent construction skills card.
  • A full UK driving licence.
  • The ability to work independently while maintaining high standards of workmanship and customer service.
