The Role
Prime Recruitment Services is working exclusively with an established manufacturing business in the Craigavon area to recruit a Junior Buyer for their Procurement team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop a career within purchasing, procurement and supply chain in a busy manufacturing environment.
Reporting to the Procurement Manager, you will support the purchasing and supply of key raw materials, helping to ensure stock availability, quality requirements and commercial targets are achieved.
You will work closely with suppliers, logistics providers and internal departments to help maintain an efficient and reliable supply chain.
Key Responsibilities
Support procurement planning and forecasting activities.
Source and purchase raw materials in line with quality, volume and budget requirements.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
Assist with supplier negotiations, pricing and supply agreements.
Coordinate transport, deliveries and goods inward activities.
Monitor stock levels, storage, stock rotation and inventory accuracy.
Analyse procurement, pricing and market data to support purchasing decisions.
Raise and process purchase orders.
Maintain accurate supplier and procurement records.
Liaise with production, logistics and other internal teams.
Assist with resolving supply, quality and delivery issues.
Support the Procurement Manager with day-to-day purchasing activities.
Deputise for the Procurement Manager when required.
About You
We are looking for an organised and commercially minded individual who is keen to develop within procurement.
The ideal candidate will have:
Strong organisational and administrative skills.
Good numerical and analytical ability.
Excellent attention to detail.
Good Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced environment.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
A proactive and practical approach to problem-solving.
Previous experience within procurement, purchasing, supply chain, manufacturing, FMCG or a similar environment would be advantageous.
