Junior Electrical Design Engineer – Building Services
Location: Farringdon, London
Salary: £28,000 – £35,000 (depending on experience)

The Role
As a Junior Electrical Design Engineer, you’ll be working closely with experienced engineers and project leads to design, develop, and deliver high-quality electrical building services solutions. This role offers hands-on project exposure, mentorship from senior team members, and clear progression opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:

Assist in the design and specification of electrical building services systems (lighting, power distribution, fire alarms, security, etc.)

Produce technical drawings and calculations using AutoCAD, Revit, and industry-standard software (e.g. Amtech, Dialux, Relux)

Support senior engineers with project coordination and documentation

Attend client and design team meetings, gaining valuable exposure to multidisciplinary collaboration

Contribute to sustainable design solutions and help meet project environmental goals

Stay up to date with industry standards, codes of practice, and regulations
Requirements:

Degree or HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering

6–24 months’ experience in a building services design environment (placement or graduate role)

Basic understanding of BS7671 and relevant CIBSE/IES standards

Proficient in AutoCAD; experience with Revit, Amtech or Dialux is beneficial

Strong communication skills and willingness to learn from experienced mentors

A proactive attitude and genuine interest in sustainable design and technology
