Junior Product Photographer & Videographer

BG Automotive · Direct employer

Location: Swindon (Groundwell Industrial Estate)
Type: Full-time, On-site

Job Summary
We're looking for a hands-on Junior Product Photographer & Videographer to join our in-house marketing team in Swindon and build the complete visual library for our catalogue of up to 25,000 SKUs. Every part we sell needs high-definition photography and video, shot to a consistent standard — and you'll be the person who makes that happen, working from our purpose-built on-site studio.

This is a great opportunity for someone early in their career who wants real ownership from day one. You don't need years of experience — you need a good eye, solid technical fundamentals and the drive to work at pace. We'll train you on our house style, our workflow and our kit.

Key Responsibilities

  • Photograph our product range in-studio to a consistent, high-definition standard — white-background e-commerce shots, packaging, detail and macro images.
  • Shoot and edit short-form product video in HD, including 360° spins, detail pans and simple fitment or demonstration clips for our website, marketplaces and social channels.
  • Work through the catalogue systematically to an agreed daily target, following a defined shot list of typically 4–8 images per SKU.
  • Retouch and batch-process images in Photoshop and Lightroom — colour correction, cropping, clipping paths and background clean-up to BGA's house standard.
  • Export assets to the correct specifications for web, marketplace and print, following our file naming and metadata conventions exactly.
  • Book in, handle, prepare and return product samples, keeping the studio tidy, safe and shoot-ready at all times.
  • Maintain an accurate shot tracker so the wider team can see which SKUs are complete, pending or blocked.
  • Support the marketing team with wider photography and video content for campaigns, events and exhibitions when required.
  • Look after studio kit — basic cleaning, card and battery management, and flagging any faults early.

Skills:

  • Confident with a DSLR or mirrorless camera in full manual — aperture, shutter, ISO, white balance and focus.
  • A working understanding of studio lighting — key, fill and rim, softboxes and reflectors, and controlling reflections on metal and plastic parts.
  • Proficient in Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom.
  • A portfolio showing clean, consistent product or still-life work — coursework, personal projects, placements or freelance all count.
  • Meticulous about file naming, folder structure and version control — the SKU code is what links every image to the product record.
  • Comfortable working to daily targets and repeating the same set-up accurately, many times a day.
  • A proactive, can-do attitude and the organisation to manage your own workload.
  • Able to lift and position stock and equipment, and to be on your feet for most of the day.
  • An interest in the automotive or manufacturing industry is a plus.

What We Offer You:

  • Competitive Salary: We're open to tailoring the job offer to fit your skills and experience.
  • Environment: A fully equipped, purpose-built studio at our modern Swindon offices.
  • Growth Opportunities: Be part of an ambitious, fast-growing company, with a clear path to a senior studio role as the team develops.
  • Supportive Team: Join a close-knit group that values fresh ideas, innovation, and teamwork
  • Workplace pension
  • On-site parking, Drinks & Fruit complimentary
  • Increased holiday for long service.
