Our client is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Junior Transport Planner to join their growing team in Wolverhampton.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in transport, logistics, or general haulage—or someone with a good understanding of the industry—who is looking to develop a long-term career. Working as part of a busy transport office, you'll support the planning team with the day-to-day operation of the fleet, helping to ensure deliveries run efficiently while providing excellent service to customers and drivers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide excellent customer service and build positive relationships with customers.
  • Support Senior Transport Planners with the day-to-day administration of the transport office.
  • Assist with planning vehicle routes to maximise efficiency and profitability.
  • Communicate with drivers, customers, and subcontractors to ensure jobs run smoothly.
  • Help coordinate driver, trailer, and vehicle availability.
  • Accurately process transport jobs using the company's transport management system.
  • Prepare ad hoc quotations for customers.
  • Notify relevant parties of abnormal load movements where required.
  • Provide drivers with job information and assist with resolving any operational issues.
  • Maintain accurate transport records and ensure all documentation is completed correctly.
Skills & Experience
  • A basic understanding of the transport, logistics, or haulage industry.
  • Previous experience in transport, logistics, planning, or administration is desirable but not essential.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Good numerical, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Competent in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Knowledge of different vehicle, trailer, and load types would be advantageous.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
