KS2 Teaching Assistant – Islington
Teach Now is recruiting an engaging and proactive KS2 Teaching Assistant to work within a primary-school setting in Islington from September.
The school is looking for someone who can become an effective additional adult in the classroom: supporting pupils who need extra explanation, challenging those ready to move forward and helping the class teacher create an environment where children can work confidently and independently.
- Support teaching and learning throughout KS2.
- Work alongside the teacher during whole-class lessons.
- Lead small-group and intervention activities.
- Provide additional literacy and maths support.
- Help pupils overcome gaps in learning and develop confidence.
- Support children with SEN or additional learning needs where required.
- Promote good behaviour, independence and positive learning habits.
- Share observations about pupil progress with teaching staff.
- Previous experience working with primary-aged pupils.
- KS2 experience is desirable.
- Strong literacy and numeracy skills.
- Good communication and the ability to build positive relationships.
- A proactive approach to identifying where classroom support is needed.
- Relevant TA qualification desirable but not essential for experienced candidates.
- Enhanced DBS and right to work in the UK.
