Quantum's core business is providing well-trained, skilled KYC and financial crime consultants to deliver s166 remediation projects: clients outsource the due diligence for their retail and corporate customer base to Quantum, which carries out KYC and financial transaction monitoring remediation at scale on their behalf.
Alongside remediation delivery, Quantum supports regulated firms - including banks, NBFCs, insurers, investment and wealth management firms, trading firms, fintechs, accountancy firms, law firms and estate agencies - with risk and compliance framework design, and regulatory change advice, so that findings from remediation projects translate into lasting control improvements.
Role Purpose
The Management Consultant will sit within Quantum's KYC Remediation Projects team, personally delivering and quality-assuring KYC due diligence remediation casework for retail and corporate clients KYC remediation programmes. The role is remediation-delivery-led: the majority of time is spent working KYC files against project targets, with a secondary contribution to the wider risk, policy and control-framework advisory work that follows from remediation findings.
Quantum recruits into this role from a broad base: candidates with general AML/KYC compliance experience, and candidates with bank branch or retail banking operations experience (where day-to-day AML controls are applied at the customer-facing stage), are equally well suited, alongside candidates with prior dedicated KYC remediation project experience.
Key Responsibilities
KYC Remediation Project Delivery (core focus)
- Lead and deliver large-scale KYC remediation projects for retail and corporate clients
- Own end-to-end Customer Due Diligence (CDD) and Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) remediation of client KYC files against current regulatory and internal policy standards, closing gaps identified through backlog, look-back or thematic reviews.
- Segment and triage remediation populations by client risk rating, product and jurisdiction, and prioritise casework against project milestones and client/regulator-agreed SLAs.
- Complete sanctions, PEP, adverse media and proliferation-financing screening as part of each KYC remediation file, correctly disposition alerts and evidence rationale for audit purposes.
- Identify, document and remediate KYC data and documentation gaps (identity verification, beneficial ownership, source of funds/wealth, purpose and nature of relationship) to bring files up to current CDD/EDD standard.
- Perform quality control (QC) and quality assurance (QA) checks on completed remediation files, feeding back findings and coaching to maintain remediation accuracy and pass rates.
- Escalate high-risk findings, discrepancies and true-match screening hits arising from remediation work, and support preparation of Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) for escalation to stakeholders.
- Feed root-cause findings from remediation back into client policy, process and control-framework recommendations, so that the underlying KYC failure is corrected and not just the file backlog.
- Apply practical, front-line knowledge of general AML controls and bank branch/retail banking operations (e.g. account opening, cash transactions, day-to-day customer due diligence) to spot real-world causes of CDD gaps during remediation reviews.
Person Specification
Essential
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional qualification/experience in Finance, Business, or a related discipline.
- General AML/KYC experience gained in a regulated financial services environment. This may come from a dedicated KYC remediation or compliance role, or equally from bank branch operations experience where AML controls are applied day-to-day (e.g. customer/account onboarding, cash and teller operations, branch-level CDD, or branch compliance/operations support).
- Working understanding of CDD/EDD standards, including identity verification, beneficial ownership, source of funds/wealth, and sanctions/PEP/adverse media screening, whether gained through remediation casework, branch account-opening processes, or general compliance duties.
- Ability to work accurately and at pace to project/operational targets: throughput or turnaround times, quality/QC standards, and reporting via trackers, MI or branch/operations dashboards.
Desirable
- Bank branch operations experience (e.g. customer service, branch operations, teller/cashier, or branch compliance officer) bringing a practical, front-line understanding of how AML/KYC controls operate in a retail banking setting.
- Experience with KYC/case management, screening or core banking technology platforms.
