Senior Business Analyst – Asset Management Platforms

About the Role

We’re working with a leading financial services organisation that is looking for a Senior Business Analyst to join its Business Analysis & Design team.

You’ll be working on a significant Technology & Operations change programme within Asset Management, helping to improve and develop platforms, processes and operating models across the investment management environment.

This is a hands-on role for someone who can understand complex business requirements, work closely with stakeholders and translate those requirements into clear, practical functional designs.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Work with Asset Management Operations, Technology and programme teams to understand business requirements.
• Lead workshops and stakeholder discussions to understand current processes, pain points, controls and business rules.
• Map current-state and future-state processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Translate business requirements into detailed functional designs, covering:
  • Processes
  • System behaviour
  • Data and interfaces
  • Controls
  • Exceptions
  • Operational impacts
• Produce high-quality Business and Functional Design Documentation.
• Create and manage user stories, PBIs and acceptance criteria.
• Maintain clear traceability from business requirements through to functional design, development, testing and final outcomes.
• Work closely with Architects, Developers, Testers, SMEs and business stakeholders throughout delivery.
• Support UAT, implementation and operational readiness.
• Identify and manage dependencies, risks and issues.
• Help ensure solutions are ready to transition into BAU.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for an experienced Business Analyst with a strong background in Asset Management, Wealth Management, Banking or Financial Services.

You should have:

• Strong experience delivering complex technology and operational change.
• Good knowledge of Asset Management Operations and the processes surrounding investment management.
• Experience with areas such as:
  • Investment processing
  • Custody
  • Settlements
  • Positions
  • Cash
  • Reconciliations
  • Controls
  • Exceptions
  • Operational risk

Strong requirements gathering and analysis skills.

Experience producing Functional Design Documents and detailed business requirements.

Strong understanding of Agile delivery, including user stories, PBIs and acceptance criteria.

Experience running workshops and working with a wide range of business and technology stakeholders.

Experience supporting UAT and implementation

Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

Platform Experience

Experience working with BlackRock Aladdin and T24 / Temenos Transact within an investment operations, custody or investment processing environment would be highly relevant.

Experience with Azure DevOps and Confluence would also be beneficial.
