Are you an experienced Groundworker ready to take the next step in your career? We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Groundworker to join a growing and well-established business operating across South East London and Kent.

This is a hands-on leadership role, ideal for someone who enjoys leading by example whilst remaining actively involved on site. You will be responsible for overseeing a small team of two Groundworkers and ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard across multiple projects.

The Role

As Lead Groundworker, you will:

• Lead and supervise a team of two Groundworkers across multiple sites
• Carry out hands-on groundworks activities including drainage, foundations, paving, kerbing, concreting, excavation
• Coordinate daily site activities and allocate workloads
• Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and to specification
• Conduct site inspections and maintain high-quality standards
• Liaise with site managers, subcontractors and clients where required
• Ensure all health & safety procedures are followed at all times
• Manage materials, plant and equipment efficiently across sites

Requirements

• Minimum 10 years experience within groundworks
• Previous experience leading or supervising small site teams (Desirable)
• Strong understanding of health & safety regulations
• Ability to read and interpret site drawings
• Full UK driving licence
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• CSCS Card essential
• SSSTS/SMSTS would be advantageous
