Source Solutions are working with an established, reputable and growing engineering and environmental services business, in identifying an experienced engineer and team leader, to take a key Lead Marine Engineer  role at their main Portsmouth site - this is a position born out of growth and as such, will grow and develop around the successful candidate as the department itself does so.

At its core, the Lead Marine Engineer role requires someone with a strong marine engineering grasp (mechanical plus water systems etc) who can also comfortably deal with customers and senior management as the role takes on a more operational standing – very important is the ability to lead and inspire a team, leading from the front and developing engineers.

As Lead Marine Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring safe engineering activities, from planning to execution. You will assess customer needs, ensure all permits, technical and safety documentation is completed correctly as well as updating stakeholders on project progress and as such, strong administration/coordination skills are required.

Lead Marine Engineer profile:

• Strong grasp of marine engineering / vessel systems
• Experience of leading small teams of technicians and/or engineers
• Ability to deal with various personalities and adaptability to changing requirements
• Good communication skills and ability to deal with clients
