About the role:
As Lead Equipment Operator, your role will be to commission and operate equipment in a competent and professional manner, while providing day-to-day leadership, supervision and technical guidance to Equipment Operators on site. You will collaborate with project managers and offshore/onshore teams to plan equipment mobilisation and utilisation requirements ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and in accordance with project requirements.
You will be the lead technical focal point for the project you are on-site for, which will include carrying out equipment inspections, fault-finding, diagnostics, preventative maintenance and first-line repairs to ensure effective equipment reliability and operational readiness.
People
- Adopting and promoting the Motive Offshore Group People Values and ensuring their use is embedded throughout day-to-day tasks and decision making.
- Develop strong working relations with key stakeholders - clients, colleagues etc.
- Provides guidance and mentoring to other Equipment Operators.
- Provide supervision to other Equipment Operators when required.
- To ensure client assistance and satisfaction at all times.
- To liaise and build rapport with the client whilst at the worksite.
Planet
- Immediately report all accidents, incidents, near misses or environmental concerns.
- Adhere to and participate in company-wide sustainability policies, procedures and initiatives as they are developed to support our Net Zero objectives.
Product
- Ensures the safe and efficient mobilisation, installation and demobilisation of equipment.
- Ensures equipment is correctly prepared and ready on time to meet Client or Company requirements.
- Stocktake equipment on arrival at worksite, communicating any anomalies and or damage to the client and Company.
- Commission equipment at worksite and perform load test operations as per the clients' requirements, completing all necessary paperwork.
- Operate equipment as per clients' instructions, ensuring all daily checks and paperwork are completed.
- Complete required onsite paperwork such as post installation checks & maintenance records.
- Complete DCSR sheets in full, with accurate times and descriptions obtaining signed approval from the client.
- Demobilise equipment at the worksite and prepare for shipping, completing any necessary cargo manifests.
- Troubleshooting equipment breakdowns, investigate and rectify.
- Attend project briefings/de-briefings, client inductions/HIRA's, and client FAT's as requested.
About you - required skills / knowledge:
- Extensive experience with flex lay equipment such as RDS, tensioners, and carousel systems, including leading operations, supervising personnel, and ensuring equipment is operated safely within project specifications.
- Extensive experience leading offshore and onshore operations, supervising personnel, and coordinating work scopes.
- Hydraulic experience and/or a Mechanical/Engineering Trade.
- Relevant years' experience operating machinery in offshore industry.
- Must hold a valid offshore medical certificate in accordance with Offshore Energies UK (OEUK) requirements.
- Offshore certification including OGUK survival or seamans health certificate.
- Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills and ability to prioritise.
