Lead Planner in Peckham, Greater London

Hyreus is currently recruiting an experienced Lead Planner for an exciting opportunity based in Peckham, London, working on a major infrastructure project with a leading Tier One civil engineering contractor.

The successful candidate will take a lead role in planning and programme management, working closely with project management, engineering, commercial and delivery teams to ensure projects are effectively planned, monitored and controlled. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Planner looking to take on a senior role within a major London infrastructure environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development, management and monitoring of detailed project programmes from planning through to completion.

• Work closely with project, engineering, commercial and delivery teams to ensure programme objectives are achieved.

• Develop and maintain baseline programmes, short-term programmes, lookaheads and detailed project schedules.

• Monitor progress against programme and identify potential delays, risks and opportunities.

• Analyse programme performance and develop appropriate mitigation and recovery strategies.

• Provide regular programme updates, reports and progress information to project teams and senior management.

• Coordinate programme inputs from engineering, procurement, commercial, construction and subcontractor teams.

• Ensure programme activities are logically sequenced and aligned with project deliverables and key milestones.

• Support project teams with planning, sequencing and resource requirements.

• Review subcontractor programmes and ensure alignment with the overall project programme.

• Identify critical path activities and monitor key project interfaces and dependencies.

• Support the management of change and assess the programme impact of variations and project changes.

• Attend planning, progress and coordination meetings with internal and external stakeholders.

• Maintain accurate planning records and ensure programme information is up to date.

The Ideal Candidate

• Proven experience as a Planner, Senior Planner or Lead Planner within civil engineering, infrastructure or major construction projects.

• Experience working for a Tier One contractor is highly desirable.

• Strong knowledge of planning and programming principles across complex infrastructure projects.

• Experience using Primavera P6 and/or other recognised planning software.

• Strong understanding of critical path analysis, programme controls, progress monitoring and recovery planning.

• Experience managing and reviewing subcontractor programmes and coordinating multiple project disciplines.

• Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

• Ability to work effectively with project, engineering, commercial and operational teams.

• Relevant degree or qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction, Planning, Project Management or a related discipline is advantageous.
