We are currently recruiting for a Lead Planner to join a leading international construction and civil engineering contractor, working on a major infrastructure project in London.
This is a key role within the project management team, responsible for providing an efficient and effective planning, scheduling and project performance reporting function across a complex delivery environment.
The Role
As Lead Planner, you will take ownership of developing, maintaining and managing detailed project programmes, working closely with the construction, technical, commercial and supply chain teams to ensure the project is delivered safely, efficiently and on time.
Key responsibilities will include:
Developing and maintaining detailed, resourced project programmes.
Reviewing construction progress, updating programmes and producing performance reports.
Undertaking programme risk analysis and developing mitigation measures.
Programming compensation events, scope changes and additional works.
Supporting effective interface and coordination management across the project.
Planning temporary works activities to ensure designs are completed and approved ahead of construction requirements.
Working closely with the Commercial Team to understand the cost and contractual implications of programme changes.
Coordinating subcontractor programmes and incorporating subcontractor data into the overall project programme.
Identifying areas of concern and working with the wider project team to develop mitigation strategies.
Supporting project delivery to ensure works are completed on time or ahead of programme.
Producing both internal and external programmes throughout the project lifecycle.
About You
The successful candidate will have:
HNC in a construction-related discipline or extensive experience within the civil engineering contracting industry.
Strong experience in tunnelling and/or ground engineering environments.
Proven experience across planning and programming for both tender and contract delivery.
A strong understanding of the commercial and contractual interfaces with project planning.
Competent use of industry planning software and Microsoft packages, including Microsoft Project.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with construction teams, commercial teams, designers and subcontractors.
