Learning Support Assistant (Female)
Location: Bromley
Salary: £26,803 to £27,597 DOE
Job Type: Temp until July 2027 (Term time only)
Our client, a well-established educational provider, is seeking a compassionate and proactive Learning Support Assistant to join their dedicated support team.
This rewarding role offers the opportunity to work closely with young people and adults with Special Educational Needs (SEN), helping them access education, develop independence and achieve their personal and academic goals.
The Role
You will work alongside teaching staff and support managers to provide learning and accessibility support across a range of programmes and activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Support learners in lessons and college activities.
- Promote independence, confidence and self-advocacy.
- Assist with learning, personal development and EHCP outcomes.
- Provide personal care, mobility and wellbeing support where required.
- Identify and help overcome barriers to learning.
- Support access to college services and facilities.
- Ensure specialist equipment and assistive technology are available and operational.
- Monitor learner progress and contribute to support plans.
- Liaise with parents, carers and external agencies when appropriate.
- Promote safeguarding, health and safety, and learner wellbeing.
- Act as an active College First Aider.
What We're Looking For
Essential
- Good standard of general education.
- Due to student requirements, candidate must be female.
- Level 2 Maths and English or willingness to achieve these.
- Strong communication and IT skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with learners, staff and families.
- Understanding of safeguarding and inclusive learning environments.
- Willingness to support personal care and mobility needs.
- Team player with a flexible and proactive approach.
- Commitment to equality, diversity and continuous professional development.
- Willingness to obtain a First Aid qualification if not already held.

Desirable
- Experience supporting SEN learners in a secondary or further education setting.
- Knowledge of Makaton, BSL or Sign-a-Long.
