Learning Support Assistant in Wandsworth, London

A welcoming primary school in Wandsworth Town is seeking a dedicated and experienced Learning Support Assistant to join its team from November 2026.

The successful candidate will provide 1:1 support to a pupil with additional needs within KS2, helping them access the curriculum, develop their independence and make positive progress both academically and socially.

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a KS2 pupil with SEN.

• Assist the pupil in accessing and engaging with the curriculum.

• Adapt activities and provide appropriate support based on individual needs.

• Encourage independence, confidence and positive social interaction.

• Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour where required.

• Work closely with the class teacher and SENCo.

• Monitor progress and communicate effectively with the wider school team.

• Contribute to creating an inclusive and supportive classroom environment.

The school is looking for someone who:

• Has at least 1 year of school-based or SEN experience.

• Has previous experience providing 1:1 support to children or young people.

• Has a genuine passion for supporting pupils with additional needs.

• Is patient, calm and empathetic.

• Can build strong and trusting relationships with pupils.

• Is confident working as part of a wider school team.

• Can remain consistent and supportive when managing challenging situations.

• Is committed to helping pupils develop academically, socially and emotionally.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced LSA or SEN Teaching Assistant to secure a full-time, long-term role within a supportive Wandsworth primary school, working closely with a KS2 pupil on a 1:1 basis.
