SEN Teaching Assistant – Complex Autism

Worthing | Full-Time | £92–£100 per day | ASAP Start

Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding role where you can make a genuine difference to a child’s school experience?

Teaching Personnel are working with a welcoming primary school in Worthing who are looking for a dedicated and resilient SEN Teaching Assistant to provide individual support to a pupil with complex Autism and significant behavioural and emotional needs.

This is a full-time position starting ASAP, and would suit someone who is confident supporting children with complex SEN and behaviours that can challenge.

The role:
  • Providing consistent, individual support to a primary-aged pupil with complex Autism
  • Supporting the child with emotional regulation, communication and engagement with learning
  • Using a calm, patient and consistent approach when responding to behaviours that challenge
  • Helping to identify triggers and implementing appropriate strategies to support regulation
  • Supporting the child with transitions and day-to-day routines
  • Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO and wider school team
  • Helping to create a safe, positive and supportive environment where the pupil can make progress
We’re looking for someone who:
  • Has experience supporting Autism, complex SEN and/or challenging behaviour
  • Is confident working with children who require a high level of individual support
  • Can remain calm and consistent during challenging situations
  • Is patient, resilient and able to build positive relationships
  • Has experience within a school, SEN setting, care environment or similar role
  • Is available full-time and able to start as soon as possible
 

Location: Worthing
Start: ASAP
Hours: Full-time, Monday–Friday
Pay: £92–£100 per day

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
