Learning Support Assistant

Location: Watford or Hemel Hempstead
Start Date: September 2026
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm
Contract: Full-Time, Term Time Only

We are currently recruiting for a caring, enthusiastic and dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a welcoming primary school from September 2026.

This rewarding role involves supporting pupils on both a 1:1 basis and in small group interventions, helping children to achieve their full potential academically, socially and emotionally.



Key Responsibilities

  • Provide classroom support to pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver tailored learning support.
  • Encourage pupils' confidence, independence and engagement with learning.
  • Support children with a range of additional learning needs.
  • Maintain a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment.


The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Experience working with primary-aged children (preferred but not essential).
  • A positive, patient and nurturing approach.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
  • A genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development.


Essential Requirements

  • An Enhanced DBS Certificate for the Child Workforce registered on the DBS Update Service, or be willing to apply for one before starting work.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.

DBS Refund:
If you are required to apply for a new Enhanced DBS through us, the cost of your DBS can be refunded after completing 20 days of work.
