Tradewind Recruitment
Northamptonshire & Surrounding Areas | Full-Time & Long-Term Opportunities | Booked via Tradewind Recruitment
Are you a compassionate and dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) looking for a rewarding role where you can make a genuine difference? Tradewind Recruitment is working in partnership with a number of established Alternative Provision schools across Northamptonshire and the surrounding areas, offering exciting long-term opportunities for committed support staff.
Our partner schools support children and young people of primary and secondary age who thrive in smaller, more nurturing learning environments. Many pupils have Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Autism (ASC), ADHD, anxiety, trauma, or behavioural challenges that have affected their education. These settings focus on building confidence, improving engagement and helping every student achieve their individual potential.
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and pastoral teams to provide tailored support both in and out of the classroom. You may work on a one-to-one basis or with small groups, helping pupils overcome barriers to learning while encouraging positive behaviour, emotional regulation and personal development. Every day brings new challenges and opportunities to make a meaningful impact.
The Role:
- Support pupils throughout the school day, both in the classroom and during wider school activities.
- Provide one-to-one and small group support tailored to individual learning and emotional needs.
- Build positive, trusting relationships that encourage engagement and progress.
- Support positive behaviour using restorative and trauma-informed approaches.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs and pastoral staff to help pupils achieve their goals.
- Contribute to creating a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Previous experience working with children or young people, ideally within Alternative Provision, SEN, SEMH, youth work, residential care or a similar setting.
- A calm, patient and resilient approach.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Confidence supporting pupils with a range of additional needs and behaviours.
- A genuine passion for helping children and young people overcome barriers to learning.
